Huiyuan Ad Tower
Multiple Locations // China
A series of unlikely corporate alliances seeks to create an advertising hub with commercial potentials. This object avoids requiring a building code by remaining transient and mobile, with a small enough footprint to be transported via a simple truck.
The telescopic design allows for it to hold down during transport but also change form throughout the day, retaining a sense of intrigue from potential ad viewers. Each side and section allows for a variety of both static and video advertisements, boring the orientation of video commonly seen with mobile phones. Each brand is elevated above the street level through out the day, allowing for product vending below. During the day the vending closes and the advertisements change orientation, resting for the night at a street level while still illuminated.
static:
To create a stark contrast from the normal hyper composed advertisements seen in urban areas, this object announces itself as a juice vendor with simple and bright images depicting natural settings or some ingredients used in their products.
video:
When the tower is at full height videos are seen at 16:9 aspect ratio, similar to that seen in most cell phones. When closed the aspect ratio shifts to 10:9, showing different types of media. The tower can still be closed and show 16:9 videos, as shown above.
